| EXTRA - Introduction | ||
| We, of the L.S.C., belong to a generation of artists very distant from the reality and the functional rituality which originated the sacred chants, the work songs, the propitiatory dances, the love songs, … For this and for many other reasons, we believe it would make no sense, nowadays, to confront these songs and dances; so we think more honest and respectful to say that this culture belongs to us but we do not belong to it. It remains, however, the great artistic value of those songs and dances; it is this value that we confront, so that their meaning might be preserved and given back through our genuine sensibility, our existence as modern artists and not through a mere reproduction of interpretative ways which are actually functional to a sentiment which we cannot fatally belong to. |
